Cheap Thrills: Jordana Blush

Coral Sandy beach, Touch of Pink, Redwood
Jordana makes great blushes.  They are very pigmented and last through out the day.  The best part is you can get these for about $2.50 at K-mart.  They need a bit of blending, but I don't think that's a big issue.

Jordana calls Coral Sandy beach a gold toned peachy pink.  They describe it as a duo toned luster and having pearl reflective color.  I'd call it coral with a satin finish, with some subtle shimmer.  I hate shimmery blush in outdoor summer light.  However I can wear this one in summer without fear of sparkling in the sunlight.
Jordana calls Touch of Pink a coral pink with a matte finish.  I always find matte finishes to be chalky.  This blush isn't chalky at all.  This is a subtle soft pink color that does lean slightly coral.
Coral Sandy Beach, Touch of Pink, Redwood
Jordana calls Redwood a pink red with pearl reflective color.  I don't find this one to be shimmery on the skin.  This is one of my favorite blushes in winter.  In summer it can sometimes read sunburned.  I like to pair this with red lipstick and subtle eye shadow.  In the video, the only pink make-up I am wearing is the Redwood blush. However, because of the lovely red/pink color of this blush, the whole make-up look reads pink.

Cheap Thrills: ELF Eyelid Primer

Eyelid/eye shadow primer does three main things.  1)It makes eye shadow colors apply more vibrant and truer to the color in the pan 2) It makes eye shadow last longer without fading. 3)It prevents creasing.  The ELF eyelid primer does this for only 1$.  I haven't tried many eye shadow primers, so I can't really compare the ELF primer to other primers.
The ELF primer does make eye shadows apply truer to the color in the pan.  I applied several shadow swatches with and without primer.  I applied each shadow in sided by side swatches.  The left swatch is without primer and the right swatch is over the ELF primer.  As you can see, shadows look much better over the primer.  I took the pictures in direct sunlight, but I probably should have taken them in the shade.  I apologize for the poor quality.

ELF primer also prevents creasing.  The picture below was taken at the end of the day.  The eye on the left (my right eye) had ELF primer.  The eye on the right (my left eye) had no primer.  As you can see, the eye without the primer has a clear crease in the eyeshadow and the eye with the primer is almost crease free.
You only need to watch the video up to the part where I apply the primer.  The rest of the video has most of the same info in this post with some random chatter thrown in.  Less is more with primer.  A thicker coat, just means there is more stuff on your eye to crease.

Cheap Thrills: ELF Studio Blush Brush

My rule for cheap thrills is that the thrills have to 1) be under 5$ or a cheap price for the product 2) I have to really like it.  I'm a bargain hunter, so I have quite a few of these and I'm always looking for the next one.

The ELF Studio Blush Brush (black handle) is awesome for 3$.  Ideally, I'd wish this was a bit denser.  But this works really well.  It is soft.  The shape is great.  The size is great.  It is soft.  It does what you want it to do.  If the magic blush brush fairy came and brought me the perfect blush brush that was slightly denser, I'd happily accept it.  But, I won't be looking for a different blush brush any time soon.  I really like this brush and highly recommend it.

Now it is time for disclaimers and apologies.  I'm trying a new hair product and used too much, thus producty hair.  I tried to iron the sheet, but it was super wrinkled.  I'll have to wash it before I film another video.  My lighting is terrible and I'm often out of frame.  Sorry about all that.
